PICTURE THE REAL
WEST VIRGINIA
Calling all amateur photographers!
WV STARS is calling for submissions to our
Distance Learning Photography Database!
We are looking for:
-
Pictures of your hometown
-
Scenery of where you live
-
Childcare settings
-
Adult learning environments

We need YOUR pictures!
WV STARS has access to databases of photographs to use in our Distance Learning content, but those stock images don't always reflect the reality of West Virginia. Your honest, candid photographs can help our training content be more realistic and relatable!
Pictures of what, exactly?
It's impossible to list them all - things like staff trainings, your training space when training through a webinar, children engaged in an activity, local neighborhoods/scenery, appropriately laid out play areas/classrooms/playgrounds. Stock photos often do not show accurate practices in child care, so anything that illustrates best practice is especially welcome!
Photo guidelines:
-
Photos should be in focus, with the subject centered in the photo
-
Please do not apply any filters
-
Please try to avoid copyrighted materials (like logos, cartoon characters, etc.)
-
Please use natural light instead of your phone's flash/flashlight.
-
Using your phone to take photos is fine, but please be sure to use the highest quality photo settings.
-
If you use your phone, be sure to hold the camera still and horizontally
